The pain

I was going about my everyday ordinary life, prepping and looking forward to my job promotion interview. Then one day, I felt a sharp pain and for a stretch of two months, I went through all sorts of pains in my body. During this season of my life, I experienced the presence of God in a whole different way. He was right there beside me in the midst of it all. He was always assuring me that everything was gonna be alright.

Even when I had the dreadful feeling that something was terribly wrong in my body, He gave me this Word;

16 I have created the blacksmith who fans the coals beneath the forge and makes the weapons of destruction. And I have created the armies that destroy. 17 But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!
Isaiah 54:16-17 (NLT)

So finally when the doctors advised that I had to go through surgery to remove the un-pleasantries from my body, I was prepared because of His Word. Following on from the surgery, I was in pain and one day, broke down and cried out to Him and asked, “WHY ME? Why did I have to get this illness? I thought I was doing everything you asked of me.” God’s reply came as quickly as my questions left my lips, “My grace is sufficient for you. I did not give you this illness and the pain, but I saved you from what the enemy meant for you”.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)

This experience has brought a new perspective to my relationship with the Father. When hard stuff happens, it is so easy to ask the WHY from God when we should be angry at the devil causing the hardship. God showed me this passage on my hospital bed;

24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.

We should embrace the pain the devil throws at us, because in it lies our divine elevation. You may ask, “divine elevation?” Through the pain, God gets the opportunity to shower you with His immense love and blessings. He gets to display His glory through your speedy recovery and healing. He opens new doors to usher the new you into. He establishes you in your new world so you can see the world in His eyes.

He is a Good Good Father! He’s the one to call and cry out for when all seems lost even after we have been a good soil.
