THE THREE-FOLD SPIRITS AGAINST FEAR

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7 NKJV

Happy New Year! I am really excited to share what God has laid on my heart with you. I cannot begin to tell you the number of times this verse has popped up around me since I received this message. Paul wrote these words from prison to Timothy. I believe Timothy was in a season where he needed all the courage and determination to walk in his calling. Paul sent this to Timothy to remind him of what he possessed and needed to accomplish his assignment. When God opened my eyes to this message, I realised how much like Timothy, we also need to be reminded of the three-fold spirits’ power essential to combat the fear dominating our world.

Joy to the world

It’s that time of the year again, and like most homes, ours is buzzing with excitement with everyone eagerly expectant of the big day. I didn’t get as many Christmas lights out as I would have liked because I’m in the minority when it comes to the number of Christmas lights displayed in my house. I don’t blame them, though! Well, despite the restrictions and lockdown, there’s still some excitement in the air, and we have something to celebrate and look forward to in the next few days. 

But the angel reassured them, saying, “Don’t be afraid. For I have come to bring you good news, the most joyous news the world has ever heard! And it is for everyone everywhere! For today in Bethlehem a rescuer was born for you. He is the Lord Yahweh, the Messiah. You will recognize him by this miracle sign: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a feeding trough!” Luke 2:10-12 NIV (more…)

Called into purpose in the unknown

What is the one thing you could do to your now that will change your tomorrow? Whilst here on earth, we are limited by Chronos time, so we have only the present at our disposal to manage. We constantly live in the unknown about what lies beyond the present. The story of Hannah inspired this message. Hannah and Peninnah, two women, married to Elkanah, a Zuphite who lived in Ramathaim. Hannah didn’t have children, and so Peninnah mocked and tormented her over and over again, for years on and on. Peninnah was oblivious that God was about to birth the first powerful prophet of Israel through her rival. (more…)
