Plumb line

7 Then he showed me another vision. I saw the Lord standing beside a wall that had been built using a plumb line. He was using a plumb line to see if it was still straight. And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I answered, “A plumb line.” 8 And the Lord replied, “I will test my people with this plumb line. I will no longer ignore all their sins.
Amos 7:7-8 (NLT )

This morning whilst reading about the prophet Amos, God highlighted this word to me; plumb line. God showed Amos a series of visions of His judgement on the people of Israel and the plumb line was one of the vision Amos saw. God told Amos He will use the plumb line to show that the Israelites were out of line. God revealed to me that we also have the plumb line as our measurement for how we do the life He has given us.

Words

Words are very important and we have to be mindful about how we let them out of our mouths.  So many times I have uttered words and thought to myself, “where did that come from?” We can’t chew back our words or take them back once they are out. The words we speak are like seeds that are sown into the recipient. As we know from the beginning, God spoke creation into being, so our words can actually create life around us.

When you speak healing words, you offer others fruit from the tree of life. But unhealthy, negative words do nothing but crush their hopes.

The pain

I was going about my everyday ordinary life, prepping and looking forward to my job promotion interview. Then one day, I felt a sharp pain and for a stretch of two months, I went through all sorts of pains in my body. During this season of my life, I experienced the presence of God in a whole different way. He was right there beside me in the midst of it all. He was always assuring me that everything was gonna be alright.
