The takeover

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

What do you do when it feels like the blessings are beyond you and the calling on your life is too much for you to handle? You feel the assignment is just too overwhelming to even start and you seem constantly in over your head? God says “Yes, that is exactly my plan for you”. TD Jakes once said, “If the vision you have for yourself is enough for you to handle by yourself, then you should be worried because it is too small”. When God gives you a vision, it has to be too big for you to manage on your own. The path to the fulfilment of the vision or prophetic word God gives you is a complicated one. Facets of the ministry

I recently encountered a very distinct and varied facets of the calling and ministry of God. My attention was drawn to the fact that David intentionally placed all these people in different places of service to maintain the worship of God. For Asaph and the Levites, all they did was serve regularly before the Ark and did everything that needed to be done. Obed-Edom and his relatives were gatekeepers; Zadok and the priests offered burnt offerings. Heman and the others were tasked to give God thanks through musical instruments. All these groups of people had a specific task assigned to them to which I believe they carried out with all diligence. Everybody’s task was important to the maintenance of the worship of God. Let it go!

What does it mean to really let go? How do we get to the place where we are no longer holding on to stuff? I believe we arrive at such destination when we find a purpose to live for that drives us to want the future God has for us. We can genuinely let go when we find a fulfilment that overrides the stuff we are holding on to. This is the place where we recognise that whatever happened to us cannot determine what will happen in the future unless we allow it.

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces w settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Philippians 4:6-7 (MSG)
