For the first time in my life, I felt in my heart to stop and take some time to reflect on the Easter story. The Easter season has always been when we do church and go through the motions and listen to the account of Jesus dying on the cross and rising from death on the third day. This time was different; I have been in awe of everything Jesus had to go through for me (and the world) to get me closer to my Father.

For some years now, some Christians and I have gone through the Easter season passively without actually valuing the price Jesus paid on the cross for the world. I have realised that what God did for the world is a big deal.

Cathy and I went to a friend’s wedding some time back, and we had such an amazing time. After the bride and groom had exchanged their vows and the marriage ceremony came to an end, we were ushered into a beautifully decorated wedding reception to celebrate with the family. The table assigned to us was beautifully adorned with decorations, and it set a pleasant atmosphere for all the guest. My attention was drawn to the wedding decorators, who had spent a lot of time and effort to make all these happen.

Happy New Year! I believe that no matter how your 2019 has played out, God has been good to you because you are still here. Cathy and I join you and yours to say “Praise the Lord! Hallelujah”! We also want to encourage you make a decision on the last day of the year to plan to fast and pray to start 2020 strong! By dedicating an early part of the year to God, you set precedence for the rest of the year. You give God the reins and permission to direct the course of the entire year.
